Todoroki was quiet, aloof, and always stayed to himself. Well, that was how he was before the sports festival. He now had a couple of close people by his side.
It was mainly Midoriya and you for helping the emotionally stunted boy so much. He considered you close acquaintances (you told him to just call you two friends) and talked to the two of you more than he had done with others in the past.
But for some reason, he had stopped going around you so much. His heart would begin to hurt and ache, and he wholeheartedly believed you were causing physical issues.
He wasn't sure what the feeling was. Sure, his heart races whenever he was out of breath or he had been working too hard, but to be like this around one person? He didn't understand.
So when you approached him, asking why he was avoiding you, he said it in the bluntest way possible.
"You're causing me pain." He muttered, not fully turning to look at you before he treked down the dorm hallways to his room again. You were left there, hurt and confused.
So, you stumbled back to your room, hurt yourself. You always acted the same, so why was this time now different? Have you always been causing him pain?
You didn't notice your door swing open until it hit the wall. That's right... you were all supposed to hang out with the girls later. Watch a movie and such in your room.
"Woah, what's wrong?" Of course, Mina saw it on your face first. She raised an eyebrow, sitting herself down beside you with no invitation.
So, you told them. Usually, you wouldn't, but it was still heavy and painful on your head, so you spilled the past conversation.
As you told them, Mina huffed and stood up. She put her hands on her hips, already halfway out the door. "So, mister emotionally unavailable wants to be mean?"
Before you could stop any of them, they all trailed out the door. Of course. Tell one, and they all set off..
Meanwhile, the girls had made it to Todoroki's door. Mina knocked, huffing as she crossed her arms. As soon as he opened the door and raised an eyebrow, she let off.
"What do you mean? Are they causing you pain?" Mina grumbled, tilting her head as the other girls behind her nodded.
"Not cool... you hurt them too, y'know." Jiro, fiddling with her earphone jacks, hummed in response after Mina's words.
"... they are." He muttered, forced to go back into his room as Mina got closer to him. He didn't know how to deal with angry girls. A girl had never been angry at him before.
Then, those two words started a whole rant on its own. Even Kaminari stepped out of his room to see what's wrong before he was shooed away.
"I mean it... they're causing my heart to hurt." Todoroki muttered, clenching his fist slightly in remembrance of the moments.
"... what do you mean, they're causing your heart to hurt?" Toru huffed slightly, putting her hands on her hips too (or, they could only assume. She was invisible.)
"Every time I'm around them, my heart begins to burn and move. Like I got done running a mile or something... and then, I don't know what to say anymore. They're causing physical issues..." he muttered, holding his hand up and just staring at the palm.
The girls went silent before Momo piped up, eyebrows creased in confusion and worry as she poked her cheek in thought.
"Todoroki... I think you're in love." She muttered as Mina nodded rapidly, no longer spitting angry at him.
"... love?" He asked, his eyebrows furrowing slightly. He wasn't sure what love was. His father was terrible to his mother and only married for her ice quirk. They never loved. He didn't know how love worked, and now he was knee-deep in it?
"Aw, do you imagine kissing their forehead as you cuddle with them!?" Toru squealed, Mina nodding quickly beside her. She had to know.
"... what." His eyes went wide, and he stared at the two. Did he imagine that? Sure, you were very attractive. Were you his standards? He didn't know he had those.
"Oh, go tell them!"
And the next thing he knew, he was outside your dorm room. He wasn't sure how to do this. He's never been in love.
