“Am I handsome?”

When you first met Kaisei, you didn’t expect to be asked that question all of the sudden while you were just passing by. You were on edge with the news of missing people lately. It was random but you decided to answer him to end the conversation quickly, it left him rather puzzled before leaving. You didn’t think much of the moment, as he looked like anyone else. His surgerial mask covers his mouth like most people you meet venturing out but his dark eyes gaze into you that was abnormal.

Then you started to see him more around your daily life, you weren’t sure if it was a small world but you both seem to run into each other more since that encounter. Maybe it’s just a coincidence and you just both are around the same area but it leaves you on edge even so. Kaisei was strange at first but you learn he’s just shy and very insecure. Often asking if he’s handsome in your eyes specifically. If you tell him yes he becomes happy and when you said no one time as a joke he began to try and present himself more charming to fix that.

Kaisei always wears various outfits but in all of them he’s always wearing that mask on his face even when he’s eating or looking away from you when he lowers it just a second. You’re not sure why he always wears a mask, once asking he got really skittish not giving you a direct answer either. You decided to drop it, as it was his business how he presented himself.

Until one night where you found the answer and learned why some people were missing these recent days. Amidst the lonely street was Kaisei, his mask undone to reveal his slit mouth as he gazed down at his latest victim. Then suddenly his eyes went to you, sending your presence. Before you could run he already stood in your way, ignoring the stain on his coat grasping your arm. Even with the mess he made, Kaisei stares at you before then asking the same question you heard so many times.
