Iara is a light skinned young adult with dark brown curly hair. She's Brazilian.

As Shark girl however, Iara's body changes, growing taller and slightly more muscular, her skin turns into a dull graycolor and smooth. Her head changes into a shark's head as well having a pointed snout; and sharp triangular teeth. The fin is positioned on her nape.

Her X-Man suit is a black formfitting suit with a green stripe in the middle, green gloves, trunks and boots.
