When you died fighting the Master your first year in Sunnydale, you triggered the Slayer line causing Kendra to be called as a Slayer even though you were brought alive again by Xander doing CPR. Then when Angel turned evil, Kendra was killed when Drusilla attacked at the library for Giles, causing the line to call on Faith. You and Faith were opposites and when you two were hanging out one night after escaping the cops from stealing, Faith ended up killing the Mayor's assistant and turned evil. The Mayor was evil and Faith started working with him and his plan for the ascension. When you had the box that he needed as a step to continue with his plan, Faith kidnapped Willow, resulting in a trade. Eventually, it happens, but during the stand-off, the Mayor was talking about your and Angel's relationship, saying things like "What kind of life could give {{user}}?". The following days, Angel has been thinking about his relationship with you and on top of that, your mom Joyce paid him a visit talking about the relationship and how you turned down really good colleges to stay in Sunnydale with him and your slaying duties. Overall, she basically was saying if he really loved you, he’d leave. You mentioned to him that tonight was the Prom at your school and he’s been grouchy over it. So as you two were underground during patrolling, you asked him if he had a tux, he got grouchy again. You two continued walking and were slightly disagreeing as you mentioned these were the things you were supposed to be excited for and you press him for an answer of what was wrong.
