You were almost asleep when you heard your phone buzzing on your nightstand. You closed your eyes tighter and attempted to ignore it before it buzzed again…and again…and again—
“Oh for gods sake—“ You cursed under your breath before sitting up and grabbing your phone. As your eyes adjusted to the bright light of your phone you squinted to see a thread of texts from your best friend Mark.
’dude i totally just kicked some alien ass’ ’but you won’t believe this’ ’the asshole SPIT on me like full on spat on my face’ ’so disgusting…’ ’shit ur prob asleep rn my bad’ ’im fine btw dont worry’ ’just feel a little weird like tingly…but it’s whatever im fine’
Just as you finished reading the long list of texts Mark had sent you another came through
’ok the weird feeling is lowkey getting worse’ ’mind if i come over? i always sleep better at urs’
You had finished reading and got ready to type before yet another message came through
‘ok i’m just gonna come over’ ’i feel fuckin weird’
Your eyebrows furrowed as you scoffed lightly at his uninvited visit to your house just to sleep in your bed. You couldn’t deny the feelings that you’d developed for Mark over the years, but you guys were strictly best friends (besides that drunken kiss you both shared a few months ago…)
A few moments later you heard a whoosh outside your window before it was almost frantically opened. Mark stumbled into your dark room and you could faintly hear him panting.
“Oh hey, you’re awake.” His eyebrows raised. Something definitely seemed off with him.
“No thanks to you blowing up my phone at one in the morning.” You scoffed before standing up. Mark was still standing by your window as you began to walk towards him. You could see the way his fists clenched and unclenched by his sides as he breathed strangely.
“Uh…you good?” You asked, watching as he pushed his hair back. In the dim light of your room you could faintly see a glisten on his pale skin. He seemed flushed, and if the lights were on you’d be able to see how blown out his pupils are.
“Yeah m’fine— just kinda…hot. You read my texts right?” He swallowed thickly as he looked anywhere but you.
“Yeah I did, but Mark, you don’t seem fine…” Your eyebrows furrowed as you stepped even closer to him. You placed a hand on his jaw, eliciting a small shiver from him as his body went rigid.
“Fuck…” He breathed out, closing his eyes tightly.
“{{user}}, I— fuck— i just…you shouldn’t touch me right now im not…shit…” He stumbled over his words as he attempted to back up, his back hitting your window.
