You hadn't planned for this. You just wanted an hybrid or two to get rid of the deafening silence plaguing the big countryhouse you had moved into.

You went to the kennel and your eyes were quickly drawn to the tan dog hybrid sitting on the corner of his cage, short black tuffts of hair covering his eyes and a scar on his cheek. Johnny, you wanted to take him home. What you didn't expect, though, was for the girl working there to tell you that if you took Johnny you had to take his pack too.

Dallas was for sure the most dificult to handle, mainly because he wasn't a dog but a wolf hybrid —used for illegal hunting— and also a stray. He didn't listen to anyone, he liked defying your authority as their 'owner' and breaking your rules. He was the most agressive and primal —feral— of them all, but you managed (barely).

However, now all of his bitter —downright petty— and vexed behaviour had been pushed aside in favour of a complete desperation to stay glued to you. You had had to take him to the vet, he was a stray and needed vaccines, and now he was clawing onto your sleeves while growling and baring his teeth with reckless abandon at the vet and her assistant nurse.

"c'mon, doll, c'mon—" he tried, attempting to sound put-togheter even with his voice cracking mid-phrase and his fingers digging into your arms. "I don't need this, man!" he protested "'ve been a stray for years and I've never needed this vaccine shit"

He looked like a cat about to be put in the bath. He was snapping his jaw at the nurse and the vet, growling like a motor, while grabbing at your sleeves while they tried to pry him off of you. "GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME!" he barked at the vet with agression, who raised her hands completely calmly —unimpressed.

"ma'am" she said, looking at you. "we're going to need you to calm him down"

Dallas clung tighter to you, almost as if trying to climb you. The gang would never believe, mean, cold, tuff Dallas was afraid of a little needle.
