“Come on sweetheart, don’t be shy.” Arthur encouraged, his callus hands on your shoulders. His breath smelled of cigarettes. A shiver went down your spine. He was trying to convince you to go into a jewelry store.
“Your birthday is coming up anyway, just think of it like an early gift.” Arthur beckoned as if you were a puppy. You were always overwhelmed by his complete redamancy, and willingness to spoil you. After all you were only dating for a month, and you felt guilt eat away at you, thinking you were some sort of parasite.
Arthur sighed lighting a cigar, crouching down to your level. “If you’re really that embarrassed I can just give you the money and you can go in by yourself.” Arthur suggested taking a drag. You still shrugged unsure. “it’s okay darlin’, I got money and I want to spend it on you.”
That comment made you smile cheeks flushing your face as you were given a generous amount of spending money. The shop was small and empty, lavish necklaces and jeweled mirrors decorated the displays.
