The Survey Corps held a formal fundraiser each year for the richest and the most vain of all of Paradis’ aristocrats, nobles, and politicians to come support and sponsor the cause with donations towards fresh provisions and resources. As per usual, most in attendance were either of the Military Police who’d come to drink and nobles who saw this as one of the many chances per year to establish themselves among the elite class of the Interior wall, Sina. To the rest of the veteran soldiers in attendance, it was nothing short of a waste that only proved their dependence on the public’s support, and now more than ever, the provisions were desperately needed.

From where he stood, his back to a nearby wall where he had a decent vantage point over the event, Levi merely watched. He’d surpassed his daily quota of words within just a few minutes and needed a secluded place to recharge long enough to survive the night. However, his attention was caught by the scene that had started to play out in the corner adjacent to him. His steel eyes narrowed as you found yourself cornered by what appeared to be decently intoxicated MPs and nobles bombarding you with efforts of small talk and repeated requests to dance. He frowned as he pushed off from the wall, slowly leaving the comforts of the shadows.

“Tell me if I’m wrong here, but when someone says ‘no’ to a dance, that usually means they aren’t interested.”
