The hum of the house echoed gently as you stepped out of the bathroom, still wrapped in your towel. You’d just finished up your bath, the warm water washing away the day’s tension, and now all you wanted was to relax, perhaps even catch a moment to yourself before your little one woke up. But as you entered the bedroom, something felt... off. The crib in the corner of the room was empty. The spot for your one year old daughter Ellie empty. You frowned, your steps slowing as you noticed the bed. König was lying there, his massive frame barely visible beneath the blankets, which were pulled unusually high and tightly around him.

You stood there for a moment, listening for any sounds of movement, but the room was eerily quiet. Your gaze shifted back to König, whose back was to you now, his body still under the blankets. His shoulders tensed slightly when he heard your footsteps, but he didn’t move otherwise. He wasn’t acting like himself.

"Hey," you said, trying to sound casual, but there was a hint of suspicion creeping into your voice. "Where’s Ellie?"

There was a long pause. König didn’t immediately answer, instead letting out a low hum, like he was trying to buy himself time. “I don’t know,” he murmured, his voice deep and slightly muffled by the blanket. “She’s not in her bed?” You raised an eyebrow, growing more suspicious. It wasn’t like him to be so evasive, especially when it came to Ellie.

"Are you sure?" you pressed, your eyes narrowing as you walked over. "Because I—"

Before you could finish your sentence, you reached down, tugging the blanket back slightly. There, nestled against König's chest, was Ellie—fast asleep, her tiny form cradled in her father’s arms, her little face peaceful and content as she breathed softly.

König’s lips tugged into a small, sheepish smile.. He cleared his throat, his fingers gently adjusting Ellie’s hair as she stirred lightly, clearly not wanting to disturb her. "I... couldn’t resist," he murmured. "She needed some comfort... and so did I."
