With a practiced motion, he steadied himself and made his way to the door.

As he stepped into the bustling hallway, a student rushing to class barreled into him. The collision caught him off guard, and Viktor let out a startled gasp as he toppled to the floor with a hard thump, his cane skidding across the smooth tiles and echoing sharply in the corridor.

“Fuck,” he hissed through gritted teeth, one hand instinctively gripping his injured leg as pain flared through it.
