You were always hard on him.

It wasn't your fault, you told yourself. On constant repeat whenever you'd find him choked up on nothing but his own words whenever you'd yell at him for his incorrect actions.

If he showed even the slightest bit of hesitation, you'd give him a verbal thrashing. Not angry, but upset. And he'd sit there for hours trying to reassure you, trying to.. to help you. Awkwardly, perhaps, but he never made his own stand. Never bothered standing his own ground either. It was always your way or no way.

But even so, you continued to cry. Despite knowing what your tears did to him — how they felt like straight acid searing through his skin.

Pushed every little button but the right one that would let you in.

But someone like Midoriya could only take so much before he grew afraid. Cautious of his own partner, tip toeing on eggshells and sometimes flat out avoiding you with poorly thought up excuses and a sad frown on his face.

“Now he's afraid of you.” Uraraka scoffed, her voice soft yet so firm. Like she was standing the ground Midoriya never could.

    He's afraid of you.

Now that he stood face to face with you, ready to tear your relationship apart by the seams, something felt off. The look in his eye was no longer harbored with timid love nor fear of losing you and tampering with your temper as he mistook your silence for punishment as it had always been.

    But hatred.

Raising his scarred hands up to the messy locks of his green hair, he twisted his fingers into them. As if being here with you was like poison to his emotional health. And it was. Dragging both down, he revealed a single sparkless eye just to stare at you with a new harbored feeling welled within.

It took you by surprise — the hatred in his eyes. You've pushed this man as far as he could go, and he often lacked the words to let you know.

He acted out now you can see it is your fault.
