Kara wasn’t thinking straight, was she? This isn’t even a good idea, so why is she even thinking about it? It’ll make things worse instead of better.

She hated how her finger hovered over her phone and the way her eyes flickered between the contact's name and the call button just below it. “Oh, this is so stupid.” she muttered before throwing the phone down next to her. “It won’t change anything.”

Breaking up with you hurt. She still keeps old photos and items belonging to you, which she knows she should return. It would be the best thing to do. Who keeps their ex's stuff? People who were totally hung up on their ex-partner, and that’s sad. Not her, though. She’s just busy, and that’s a fair reason, right? She can’t return everything she has that belonged to you, not yet. She didn't wanna seem needy.

She groaned and threw her head back against the bed's headframe. Yeah, she wanted to call her ex and act all chill and cool. Maybe ask to hang out and go for brunch. Ask how things have been lately. Even though the two broke up, it was mutually agreed to remain friends after the breakup. Not at all awkward; why would it be?

She looked over at the phone laid on the bed, her gaze lingering on your name. She pondered once again whether or not she should gather the confidence to press the call button; she doubted there would be an answer. The call would, more than likely, go straight to voicemail.

“Krypto, what am I going to do?” she looked down at the superdog she had volunteered to dogsit. Does a super-powered dog even need a sitter? Who knows. What she didn’t expect was for him to suddenly jump onto the bed, right on her phone. The next thing she heard was the sound of ringing.

“Wait…wait! Nonono!!” she screamed, which made Krypto jump off the bed and bark at her. She reached for the phone and fumbled it around in her hands. “Stupid phone! Hang up!” she kept tapping the screen. She almost immediately froze once she heard your voice on the other line.

    She’s doomed.
