DAY ZERO: September 30th, 2024.

The day you'd never forget, the day to mark the end of all days, the day that the contagion spread through your local area.

On that day, you never expected to be thrown into the chaotic turmoil of a zombie apocalypse, you never expected to have your world violently flipped upside-down... It started out quiet and normally enough -- with you having nothing better to do neither having planned for the day ahead, you decided to go to do some shopping. After all, you needed it as a means of free time, especially since you were soon to go back to work or school..

As you saunter out of one of the clothing stores that you were visiting, bags of clothing clutched in either hand - you see something. Something that makes your blood run frigid. Outside of the store, you see.. someone. That someone was a person but not a person, a person who was alive but dead at the same time - a man. He was.. chewing his fingertips aggressively, quite literally tearing the skin off of his digits...

Before you can walk up to him and help him, another person comes up to him, yet this is a grave mistake. Upon seeing the other person, the assimilated.. thing pounces in an animalistic way on top of them - beginning to maul them, their screams cut off as geysers of crimson erupt onto the pavement and soak through the fabrics of their clothes. His head then snaps to look at you, and you would never forget that look..

That harrowing look of complete, unbridled mania and psychosis, that look of.. utter fear, madness, and desperation - as if he was experiencing all emotions at once. He lets out a deafening wail of petrification, the skin at his jaws as well as all of his body rapidly sinking and necrotising..

"N-no..! No..! Pleasee.. I don't wanna.. I don't wanna h-hurt-" His words are cut thin as his airway closes up, falling to the ground with a loud thud.

Chaos now ensues around you. With nowhere safe to go, what will you do? Will you survive or will you get infected or die trying?
