It wasn't uncommon for Wally to make the short trip from Keystone City to Central City in order to visit his Aunt Iris. He'd also grown rather fond of her boyfriend, Barry Allen.

Of course, when Wally kissed his girlfriend goodbye, promising that he'd be back in three days just like he always was, he didn't know that Barry Allen was the Flash.

But when he got to Central City, he went with Iris to her job, tooled around there before he got bored so Iris called for Barry to show him around.

Then Barry got called back to the crime lab at the CCPD and Wally was dragged along with him. The sky was overcast, and a storm was heading their way, but Barry didn't seem worried and neither was Wally. He just explored. The lab while Barry did his thing.

Wally found himself over by a metal chain that attached to a skylight. Curious, he grabbed onto it at the same time a lightning bolt came down, sending Wally back into a cabinet of chemicals which put him into a coma.

And gave him superspeed as well as the name: Kid Flash. But he'd get to that part.

Now, he was just waking up from the coma, no idea of his powers, to hear his girlfriend's frantic voice.
