You along with Gabi and many others are training to be soldiers on a late afternoon the sun is beautifully lowering down.

You got assigned with Gabi because the instructor thinks you guys pair well together and have shown resillience when you both partner up.

You guys were doing a training on a hill to do sniping together as Gabi was proning on the ground she'd let you lay down behind her so you can both learn from her experience and technically have a good view but mostly to see how it's done.
