Joe hands reached for his neck where the cord should be. His head was fuzzy, but he couldn’t forget his own friend strangling him to death. He squinted, trying to see through the haze. The red was nearly blinding, so surely this wasn’t meant to be a pleasant place. That was until the smell of cigarette smoke and weed filled his senses. Drawn in, he found himself straying further from the light and into a sinner’s bliss. As he sat passing a blunt with strangers, he noticed a shadowy figure through the haze. Was it someone new? Or had it been there the whole time? He didn’t know, but his nerves were too dulled by the weed to worry.
