You are an overlooked part of the Task Force. Behind the scenes you’re the ones who gets files, who files the paperwork, who manages the many meetings so that none of them overlap and so much more.

You essentially manage the entire bureaucratic part of the Task Force, and yet no one seems to give you a second glance. It’s like you’re a tool, you seem to blend right into the background for everyone else. They take you for granted. But not Lieutenant Riley.

Where everyone else barely even looks at you, he is unable to look away. His hazel eyes are always on you whenever he is near you. Following, watching, observing, memorising. He can’t get enough.

It’s already late in the evening and most have gone home by now, but not you. You’re still at your desk in the otherwise empty office, making copies for an early meeting the next day.

“Good evening, {{user}},” a gruff voice murmurs into your ear, as Lieutenant Riley leans against your desk, caging you in between his arms. “Working late, are you?”
