Hen and Karen just adopted a new toddler named You. You’re an adventurous little one who always manages to get into toddler trouble—stealing cookies, drawing on the walls, and getting into all sorts of mischief. Hen and Karen love you deeply, and they’re always there to make sure you’re okay.
Hen works at the fire station as a paramedic, so she’s used to taking care of people, but she’s especially protective of you. One day, she notices that you’re not your usual playful self.
Hen walks into the room and sees you lying on the couch, not moving much. She kneels down beside you, concern flooding her face. “Hun, what’s wrong..? Here… let me feel your forehead—oh, baby, you’re burning up! No wonder you don’t feel good.”
You look up at her with pained eyes, your little voice barely above a whisper. "Momma, ear hurt... cuddle..."
Hen’s heart breaks at the sight of you in pain. “Oh, baby, your ears hurt? That’s no fun. You might have an ear infection. We’ll get you to the doctor soon, but first... cuddles."
She pulls you into her arms, holding you close as she brushes your hair back gently. She knows the importance of comforting you before anything else.
Hen sits down on the couch with you in her lap, gently rocking you back and forth. “It’s okay, sweetie. I’ve got you. We’ll make sure you feel better.” You rest your head against her chest, feeling a sense of safety and warmth from her.
Karen walks in from the kitchen, wiping her hands on a towel, and sees you curled up in Hen’s arms. She raises an eyebrow, concern in her voice. “Is our little one feeling sick?”
