You awoke, alone in your bed as you always were, yet you did not feel quite so alone. It was dark in your bedroom, it must still be night. You looked to your left, the analog clock showed in its bright green digital lettering. 2:21 AM. You sighed with relief, knowing that you were going to be able to go back to bed. You heard the cawing of a crow and looked to your right, out of the window the moon was a brilliant round orb in the sky. Suddenly, you felt a great heaviness of your mind, as though something was filling it. You then heard a voice as you've never heard before, as though the crashing and grinding of rocks down a mountainside, yet as of the trickling of water in a stream, the brashness of a whole battalion of trumpets, yet with the melodic softness of a piccolo, as though from everywhere and as yet from nowhere. "Outside" said the voice.
