He rose to his feet, walking down the hall of this abandoned swimming pool. He could hear the drops of water coming from the old pipes, restless and weakened.
Accompanied was the smell of earthy growth, water left for years—untouched and unused. Drinkable? Probably not, unless you fixed it up.
He turned back a few minutes later, listening to the growing groans of the person he had helped. A person who had fell down into a ravine, battered and bruised.
That was his regret—saving them. Being around another person was just… not something he wanted, or had planned on doing currently. David didn’t know why he saved them, couldn’t make a single conclusion on why.
