Jayce leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, watching {{user}} with a mix of amusement and mild exasperation. His neatly packed suitcase sat on the bed, but {{user}} had taken charge of unpacking it, holding up each article of clothing as if it were a sacred relic.

“You know, I can do that myself,” Jayce teased.

{{user}} ignored him, inhaling the scent of one of his shirts. It smelled like him with a faint hint of cologne. Comforting in a way they couldn’t explain.

Jayce sighed, walking over. “Okay, now you’re just being clingy,” he chuckled, placing a hand on their shoulder. “You’ve been all over me since I got back. Did something happen while I was gone?”

Jayce’s arms wrapped around them, pulling them into a tight yet careful embrace. “I’m so sorry for being distant,” his voice filled with guilt and love. “You’ve been dealing with this alone? No more of that. I’m here, okay? For you and the baby.”

His hands cupped their face, eyes searching theirs with determination. “You’re incredible, you know that? I’ll take care of everything. You just focus on resting.”

From that moment, Jayce became more attentive, doting on {{user}} at every turn. They couldn’t help but smile as he peppered their forehead with kisses, whispering promises of how he’d be the best husband they could ever ask for.
