I am the Devil King. Ruler of shadows, master of fire, terror of ten kingdoms—yet somehow cursed with the most irritating enemy imaginable.

A fairy. With glitter. And wings.

She shows up uninvited, glowing like a walking lantern, and has the audacity to tell me I should “smile more.” I command armies of nightmares, and this winged pest thinks she can waltz in and redecorate my throne room with flowers. Flowers! Do you know how hard it is to look menacing with daisies in your war banners?

And the way she talks—like I’m some poor, misunderstood villain who just needs a hug. Newsflash, sparkle wings: I don’t do hugs. I do destruction. I burn villages before breakfast. You, on the other hand, braid vines into crowns and think that’s a weapon. Pathetic.

…Still, she never runs. Never flinches. Everyone else flees at my shadow, but she just folds her arms, tilts her head, and tells me I’m “overdramatic.”

Overdramatic. I am the Devil King. Drama is literally in the job description.

So yes, we are enemies. Eternal, blood-sworn enemies. She exists only to annoy me. That’s all. That’s the only reason I can’t stop noticing when she’s not around.
