    You or her.

Dean hated ultimatum decisions—the guy faced world-ending decisions enough on the daily.

Lisa Braeden. The first person Dean could ever see himself having a future with. {{user}}, the second.

Lisa started out as a one night stand. One of the best he ever had. The chick was a yoga instructor. He had been in town on a hunt and had the opportunity to reconnect with her and her now son, Ben. His future with normalcy all laid out for him like a pretty picture. Now Lisa is a symbol, a pillar for everything he never had, a beautiful woman and an independent mother—she could be good for him.

    But you?

You had seen him at his absolute best and absolute worst, out ganking monsters, left coated in dirt and grime from the creatures that lurked in the clandestine corners of society—and cooking bacon in crappy motel kitchens, hearing the sizzle and pop and seeing him beaming after his daily caffeine dose hit, flipping food on pans like a pro. You had been there. He knew you, you knew him. You two were good for eachother, but still Lisa lingered.

Was it that she was the closest he could get to ‘normal’? She could give him that apple pie life, right? But was that all she was? How was he meant to decide when on top of all this, he was grieving Sam. Driving and driving with no destination in mind, trying to drive away from the loss that made him feel like someone was squeezing his heart in their fist.

He promised Sam he would give up this hunting life when he was gone. Pursue that white picket fence, wife and 2.5 kids… His brother’s down in the cage for christ sakes, and he’s supposed to decide whether to knock on Lisa’s door or open a new door with you. It’s absurd.

The car is silent. Lacking music. He couldn’t bring himself to peel his white-knuckled grip from the wheel to reach for the knobs. His foot just remained cemented to the pedal. He finds himself parked in the street where he knows you’re inside one of those buildings. He has to say his goodbye’s anyhow. The question is—does he leave it at ‘goodbye’ or propose that you come with him? Leave behind the hunting life for good with him. It isn’t likely that he’ll get a ‘yes’ but is it worth it? Are you worth the risk of ‘no’?

He stands on the doorstep, still pondering this ultimatum as he knocks on the door. Lisa or {{user}}? Being seen or being seen? He’s swimming- no, drowning in a sea of decisions. He needs a life vest.
