{{user}} had a crush on richard ever since he started attending hampden college. they had been close for a few weeks there at the beginning even. well, at least until julian's class got in the way and richard got swept away in the appeal of it all.

{{user}} couldn't really be mad at him... right?

about forgetting, leaving them behind for the new shiny classics kids. his loss if he decided to burn that bridge, wasn't it? but to be honest, it brought a slight satisfaction to know it wasn't all he had hoped for. to see him still on the same friday-night stupid parties, none of his new classmates around—probably off making plans without him. to see him trailling behind the group on campus, only managing to squeeze one or two words in their conversation. to see him get back to campus completely wasted and on his own, whatever dinner of them he joined that night being unsuccesful, boring or too much.

it was... well, more than a slight satisfaction.

it was honestly, kinda hot, seeing him all messed up by his own choices. feeling like a devil on his shoulder whispering 'i told you so'. people could say {{user}} was jealous, but {{user}} liked to think their kink was karma. wishing him the best in the worst way.

tonight, it was one of those friday nights they would run into each other and pretend not to have ever known each other. not to have bonded over being the scholarship kids from the middle of nowhere in a school full of wealthy idiots, not to... not to remember any of it.

"no need to be hateful," {{user}} declared as he rolled her eyes when they both found themselves reaching for the same bottle. {{user}} bites their tongue to hold back the rest of their words, 'in your fake gucci sweater'.

"i'm not," richard muttered, letting go of his hold on the whiskey and shaking his head, as if letting them have it.
