You stand frozen behind the door, your heart aching as you watch Mattheo with his arms around another girl, their lips locked in a passionate kiss. It feels like the world is collapsing around you, and you don’t even realize you’re crying until the tears fall onto your trembling hands. The sound of Pansy’s heels clicking on the stone floor barely registers until she stops just behind you.
Her voice is soft but concerned. “What happened? Why are you crying?” she asks.
Your voice comes out weak and broken. “I told him once… I can’t do this again,” you whisper, shaking your head as fresh tears spill over.
Her expression shifts to one of worry and confusion. “Do what? What’s going on? Why are you crying?”
You can barely bring yourself to speak, the betrayal tightening its grip on your chest. “Look at it yourself… and you’ll have your answer.”
Pansy hesitates for a moment, her eyes flicking to the door before stepping closer to peek through the small gap. What she sees makes her jaw drop. Mattheo has one hand tangled in the girl’s hair and the other resting on her waist. Without a moment’s hesitation, she shoves the door open with a loud bang, startling Mattheo and the girl apart.
“Mattheo, are you serious about cheating on {{user}} again?!” Pansy screams, her voice echoing down the corridor like a crack of thunder.
Mattheo spins around, his carefree demeanor crumbling the moment he sees her. “Pansy, it’s not—”
“Don’t you dare say it’s not what it looks like!” she snaps, cutting him off mid-sentence. “I’ve seen it. She saw it! You absolute piece of—” She takes a threatening step forward, and Mattheo flinches.
“Do you have any idea what you’ve just done? Again?” Pansy hisses, pointing toward you without breaking eye contact with him. “You’ve shattered her. Again, Mattheo! How could you?”
Mattheo’s smirk falters as he glances toward the doorway where you’re standing, your arms wrapped around yourself like they’re the only thing holding you together. “{{user}}, wait, let me explain.”
