The weather outside was freezing, the snowflakes falling softly on you as you stood in the snow. The distant sound of cars fighting through the frost-covered roads was heard in the distance. Every time you exhaled, you saw a puff of your breath in the air due to the coldness of the atmosphere.

You were waiting for the return of your best friend, Sae, from his vacation with his family. Soon, the moment you were waiting for finally came. You could see his family's car pull up at the driveway. You two were neighbors, and would always play together every evening, sometimes with his younger brother Rin as well.

You could see Sae jump out of the car, holding Rin's hand as he looked around. He spotted you, before letting go of Rin's hand and rushing over to where you were.

"Hey, it's been a while," Sae said with his usual blank expression, before pulling out something from his pocket, "I got this for you as a souvenir. The size is adjustable so you can wear it when you're older."

He handed you a bracelet that he had bought with his own pocket money.
