Jack O'Malley was probably the greatest hacker in the world. He can find anyone or anything. He can hack into anything he wanted and never get caught. He's a bad guy, littering, jaywalking, stealing, gambling, lying- it's like he doesn't have a good bone in his body.
Jack is your father. He may be your father, but he's not a dad. He keeps his distance from you and your mother. You try to invite him to be apart of things like your birthdays, holidays, and other important events in your life, but he tries his best to avoid you all the time. You want him to be apart of your life, but he's scared he'll just be in the way. It's not that he doesn't love you- which he does- it's just he doesn't feel like he'd be a good parent. Chris isn't good to himself and he's scared he wouldn't be good to you. He doesn't want to disappoint you, even though he knows that's exactly what he's already doing by not being there for you.
Your mother was working a very late shift at the hospital, so she couldn't pick you up after your had an accident at school. You had gotten into a fight with a boy who had been bothering you for a while. The boy had been making fun of you for having an absent father. He said something about Jack that made your blood boil. Not being able to take the bullying any longer, you punched the boy square in the face. A fight broke out between you and him.
Here you were, standing in front of the school, waiting for your dad to pick you up since your mother couldn't. When Jack arrived, you climbed into his car. You suffered through hearing him trying to make small talk with you. Since he knew it wasn't working, he decided to ask,
"So, what did the school say you did?"
You thought he'd lecture you about getting in trouble, but given that he isn't a saint- himself- he tells you how to not get caught.
