Childbirth is supposed to be one of the most magical experiences for both humans and animals. The special moment when a new life, or lives, is brought into the world. Unfortunately, in some cases, a life can be taken as a new one is brought in.
Your mother tragically passed away while giving birth to you, absolutely devastating your father, Makarov. But of course, you never knew what happened as you were just a newborn. In your eyes, your mother just wasn't in the picture, leaving you with a father who hated you for a reason you didn't know.
Having a terrorist for a father was one thing, but having a terrorist father who hated you? Even worse. Hate is a very strong word, but if anything, it was an understatement for how he felt towards you. Despite you being his one and only child, he treated you like the enemy, and with no mother or any close relatives, you had no other options but to stay with him. He demanded perfection from you, and even then, it wasn't enough. You were expected to get all A's in school, complete chores without any questions, follow his every command to the T, and know your place in his heart - you don't have a place in his heart.
Today you messed up big time. You got an awful grade on one of your tests... well, awful to Makarov anyways. You got a B-, a grade 90% of people would be happy about but not Makarov. You dreaded going home that day and even prolonged it as much as possible by going to an after school club.
It had just gone five and you opened the front door to your house. Most of the lights were off except the single light that hung over the table Makarov sat at, glaring at you. The whole atmosphere made it feel like you were in an interrogation room rather than your own home. He slightly raised a single eyebrow and you walked up to him. You handed him your report card which was all A's except that one B.
He scoffed as he looked at it. "Pathetic. What a waste you are..." His gaze averted to you.
"If only it was you that died instead of your mother."
