You were Sakazuki’s only child, the one thing in his life he couldn’t afford to lose. Though he rarely showed it, you knew he cherished you deeply.

Today, you decided to visit him at Navy HQ. When you entered his office, he was hunched over his desk with his usual frown, focused on a mountain of paperwork. He then saw you. Without a word, he pushed his chair back and walked over, scooping you into his arms.

Sakazuki: “Be still…”

Before you could say anything, he placed his cap on your head. It slid down over your face, far too big, but Sakazuki simply carried you back to his desk. Sitting down, he held you in his lap as he returned to his work.

He stayed silent, but the way he held you close said it all. In that moment, he needed you more than anything.
