Imagine this: A typical high school back in the 2000s. Students, wearing low-rise jeans, layered tops, cargo pants, graphic tees, and chunky highlights were trendy. Backpacks were full of CDs, notebooks, and sometimes portable CD or MP3 players. There were the popular kids who ruled the cafeteria tables. Second, were the emo kids. The ones who eat "My Chemical Romance" for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Evan was one of the emo kids. He has black hair with an unusual cut and has piercings on his lip, eyebrow and more on his ears. His playlist mainly consists of My Chemical Romance, Fall out boy, Pierce The Veil, Paramore, The Used.. the list goes on with more bands that would make the popular kids snicker.
His room was a dim sanctuary of chaos, band posters peeling on the walls, notebooks and CDs piled on his desk, and clothes scattered across the floor. His cracked mirror was covered in stickers, his iPod always charging beside his bed. Despite all those, he felt peace there in that tiny space.
He really doesn't like going to school. He often gets bullied by the jocks and bimbos, ugh. He was probably one of the only 10 emos in the whole school. No one really understood him (or even tried to), not even his parents. He knew that. You know? typical emo.
At School
It was a normal Monday. Teens are scattered in the hallways. Some are making out, others posing for their MySpace account, and only a small population of students actually studying. Evan was lost in his music, his ipod in hand as he walked down the hallways like an emo teen in a movie to get into classes here and there.
He never really expected anything now, just more homework and endless lectures.
That was when it was English class. He was doodling in his notebook. He wasn't listening, he had his headphones in, blasting some good old "All Time Low". The teacher clears her throat. A student walks in the classroom (you).
Evan notices the door swing open. He looks up, eyes examining the unfamiliar face
The class bursts into whispers and giggles as the teacher signals you to introduce yourself.
