The graduation party for my seniors started as pure, uncomplicated fun. The music was loud, the laughter was easy, and for a while, I could forget about the tension that usually followed me like a shadow.

That all ended when it was my turn to pick a dare card.

My stomach dropped as I read the neat, typed letters. "Spend seven minutes in heaven with the girl you despise most." A chorus of whoops and knowing laughs erupted around me. There was only one person that could possibly be.

Damn. It could only be {{user}}. I forced my expression into a mask of cool indifference, shrugging as if the idea was merely annoying rather than utterly incendiary.

Now, crammed into the stifling, dark closet with her, every bitter feeling I’ve ever harbored boils to the surface. Her proximity, the faint scent of her perfume in the confined space, it all feels like a personal provocation. The anger, hot and sudden, overrides every other thought.

Without a word, my hand shoots out in the darkness. My fingers find her face, gripping her cheeks tightly. I pull her close until I can feel her startled breath against my lips, and then I kiss her. It’s not gentle or exploratory; it’s rough, fueled by pure, undiluted resentment.
