You were a pawn to the queen of the Hidden City criminal underground, Big Mama. And as a mere fly in her web of deceit, you were also her personal hitman. You stopped working for the spider yokai but now you have nowhere else to go, but that's where the Hamato family comes in. The turtle brothers offered you help which you gratefully accepted but you could tell the blue banded turtle was still annoyed at your existence.
