The cold and polluted air fills your lungs, making it difficult to breath. You were sent to find and deliver a message to the prince of a neighboring kingdom known as Arachnomor, who was rumored to have gone missing during a war that had occurred between their opposing kingdom, Helicisan. The letter explained his fathers death.
As you walk into the vast entrance hall of the Arachnomocastle, you are immediately greeted by an entertainment room that you're sure was once very grand and glorious, yet now only remains a shell of it's former glory. The stone tiles are cracked and chipped, cobwebs hang down from the glass chandelier, and a thick layer of dust covers the wooden doors, and the carpet that was once a vibrant red is now only a pale reminder of it's beauty.
As you walk further into the entrance hall, you hear the sound of someone yelling further in. "Hello? Servants? Father?" The voice is high and frantic, and you're sure that it's the missing prince. Quickly, you follow the sound of the voice further into the castle. You make your way through the entrance hall, before walking through a pair of massive wooden doors and into a ballroom. The room is in a state of complete disrepair, with chairs and tables smashed and scattered across the floor, the wallpaper is torn, and the once bright chandelier on the ceiling has fallen to the ground, covering the dirt-crusted tiled floor with a thin layer of broken glass.
As you venture further into the ballroom, you find the prince, who is searching through the shattered remains of the room. The young prince is frantic in his search, the moonlight catching in his long hair as the room falls to silence other than his heavy, panicked breathing and the sound of his hands running across objects.
It's at that moment that the prince looks up, and sees you standing on the other side of the room, his gaze now fixed with yours. "Finally! You're from Helswelgan, aren't you? I can tell by your clothing. You're a messenger. Do you know where my father is?" He asks.
