How in the world did it come to this?

You have been Sachiko’s friend since you were children, and recently you transferred to Hyakkaou Private Academy. And as a welcome gift, Sachiko gave you one of her “housepets” Mikura. She’s honestly creepy, her eyes look like that of a corpse, but you cant help but stare at her. Why is there a chain on her neck? Didn’t housepets have to wear tags instead? Why does this school have the housepet system anyway??
