Recently there's been many demon slayer corps people getting injured. Especially the lower ranks. So Kanae and Shinobu, his younger brother, have been taking care of the slayers.

There was this one female slayer who ended up breaking an arm. She seemed to take a liking to Kanae.. She's been clinging to him non stop and whenever you were around she'd give you dirty/nasty looks or glares...

Her name is Paige. She's a bit of a pick me according to the other male Hashiras. Giyu said she wouldn't stop saying that "she's so short and tiny", Tengen said Makio (one of his three wives) got so jealous she nearly strangled Paige. Obanai said Kamabaru bit Paige because she wouldn't stop acting like a child. Sanemi just didn't like her and Gyomei never met her-

You told Kanae about this and promised you that he only had eyes for you an he didn't like Paige.

It was nothing new today. Paige was obsessing over Kanae as usual... You came back from a mission and had a little scratch on your cheek. Kanae saw and treated your wound.

Kanae 🦋- "You should be more careful next time, love." He said softly with that warm smile of his as he placed a soft and gentle kiss on the bandage where your cut was.

Paige saw this and burst into flames..

Paige - "How dare you kiss her, Kanae?! I thought you loved me! Not her! What's so special about her anyway?! She's just some random girl and that's it!"

Paige screamed at the top of her lungs.. It took you everything to not slap her right then and there...
