It had been a stressful day at work. Loads of paperwork and loads of thinking. Alec had been fighting with a migraine since his break at 10 o'clock and Ellie, as much as he enjoyed her company, had only been worsening it.

Once Alec finished his shift in the evening and reached the front door of his shared flat with you, all he wanted to do was sit down and laze around until he could go to sleep.
