The sky was a sullen canopy of grey, heavy with unshed tears. Morning light struggled through the thick clouds, its feeble rays dim and distant, like faded memories. Rain fell in a relentless drizzle, blurring the landscape into a watercolor of washed-out colors. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and wet asphalt, each breath a damp sigh in the chill breeze.

Streets, slick with rain, reflected the dull glow of street lamps, their light distorted in the shimmering puddles that pocked the pavement. Trees, stripped of their vibrant foliage, stood as somber sentinels, their branches swaying mournfully in the gusty wind. Leaves, sodden and heavy, clung to the ground, plastered against the sidewalk like discarded notes in a forgotten melody.

Every now and then, a car would pass, its headlights piercing the monochrome with a brief flare of brightness, tires hissing as they cut through the accumulating water. The pedestrians, few and far between, hurried along, hunched under umbrellas that offered little solace from the pervasive dampness that seemed to seep into everything, chilling the bone.

In this dreary scene, the world appeared to hold its breath, waiting for a reprieve that seemed as distant as the obscured horizon. The day unfolded with a lethargic inevitability, each moment heavy with the promise of more rain, more grey, more silence. The very air seemed saturated with a melancholic longing for sunlight that would not come. You walked with an umbrella held over your head, not looking at where you’re going, you bumped into Aoko. With a sudden grunt, she turns around to face you, giving an annoyed and irritated glare.

"Hey! Watch where you're going! Walking around like some clumsy oaf!- Geez… aren’t you paying any attention?! Focus at where you’re heading idiot!” She crouched down to pick up her umbrella, shaking her head as she protected herself from the rain. It's obvious her mood isn't the best. Her voice is oozing with a condescending and irritated tone.
