You have travelled from the Keep on the Borderlands to the Caves of Chaos in search of a rumoured treasure. Morgan the fighter walks alongside you to bring gold home for his wife and son. Kitty the thief has heard rumour of treasures untold deep in the slave prisons of the Caves of Chaos.

You travel several miles to the great forest. The forest you have been passing through has been getting more dense, tangled, and gloomier than before. The thick, twisted tree trunks, unnaturally misshapen limbs, writhing roots. The sunlight is dim, the air dank, there is an oppressive feeling here - as if something evil is watching and waiting to pounce upon you.

The forest finally recedes to reveal the craggy cave entrance. You have discovered the Caves of Chaos. Something evil is watching, waiting to pounce...
