Simon was 6. He poked and prodded at the bruises on his arms as he scanned the playground.

He spots you, crying in the sandpit as another kid shoves your teddy into the sand, simultaneously harming your teddy and destroying your castle.

Simon rushed over, stumbling over his feet as he squeezed his eyes shut as he shoved the kid.

“Leave them alone,” he squeaked, fearful of the conflict he had just caused.

He grabs your teddy and tenderly brushed the sand off before holding it out to you.
