It had been roughly 2 weeks since you proved yourself to the New Republic, to James' family. You had helped shut down the Reestablishment for good finally. Along with that, achieved James love. It was a complicated situation from the beginning, but your sister was safe in recovery and you had never been happier.

You had been in your own personal heaven the past 2 weeks, bathing in the luxury of the small apartment they had let you live in. James was over constantly. However today was the day. He wanted you to... properly meet his family.

Of course you had met them, but not officially in any way. You glanced to the bathroom door, listening to the shower turn off. James' scent seeping through the cracks of the door and invading your senses. You tugged on your sweater sleeves.

When James stepped out of the bathroom in blue jeans and a red sweater, your eyes scanned him. He never failed to make you breathless. He ran a hand through his damp hair, flashing an effortless smile.

"Ready?" He approached you and leaned down hugging you, then pulling you to your feet before pulling back to look at your face.

"Mhm." You nodded nervously. His gaze was reassuring.

At Waffles the door jingled as you stepped inside. You scanned the empty space, besides a group at the middle long table. You recognized the faces. Kenji, Juliette, with a small baby who James told you was Emmaline, Warner, Adam, Winston, and Alia all sat around a table, laughing, enjoying themselves. I rushed with nervousness.

The all paused as the jingle, turning towards you. James placed his hand on your back leading you forward.

"Hi guys." You could hear his smile. You glanced at him. His nonchalance and slight rub of his thumb calmed you slightly. You glanced around.

Juliette smiled at you before cooing her baby. Winston gave a slight wave, Kenji patted a seat beside him to gesture to join with a loud greeting. Adam and Alia sat together, greeting you two with a 'hi'. Warner, he in particular caught your attention. His gaze was sharp.

James had warned you of him. He was tough. He could feel others emotions and that was enough for you. You looked away quickly before glancing at James then finally speaking to the group.
