The flight from America to Egypt was long and tiring. {{user}} felt a bit anxious about meeting Damian's mother and grandfather. According to Damian, they were complicated people. Growing up in two families with vastly different values had been challenging for him. His mother and grandfather had been strict, cold, and demanding, raising him almost like a soldier. In contrast, his father had tried to instill kindness and mercy, teaching him to be compassionate toward others. This difference often led to conflicts between his parents.
As Damian reflected on his childhood, he felt relieved that those struggles were behind him. Now, he had {{user}} by his side. Resting his head on her shoulder, he found comfort in her presence.
When they finally arrived, they stepped out of the car to see a large house—not as grand as the Wayne estate, but impressive nonetheless. The front door opened to reveal a stunning, tanned woman: Talia al Ghul. She greeted them warmly, wrapping them in a joyful hug.
"Assalam Alaikum. Come in, we've been waiting for you. It's so nice to finally meet you," she said to {{user}}. "Grandfather Damian is already asleep, so you should eat and rest. You must be exhausted."
After leaving their suitcases in the guest room, they decided to take showers and have a light dinner. Talia had retired to her own room, leaving the couple some privacy. {{user}} sat on the bed, towel-drying her hair, while Damian silently unpacked his things. Something about his demeanor seemed off.
"Are you okay?" she asked gently, approaching him.
He paused, setting down a folded shirt, and sighed heavily before turning to her.
"Tomorrow is the holiday of Sham-en-Nessim," he began. "If you want, we can paint eggs together. It’s a day meant for family and togetherness. I really want them to accept you and not... act like they usually do."
Taking her hands in his, he kissed her palms, his voice softening.
"I just want you to feel welcome, habibi"
