It’s the tri-Wizard tournament, Thomas Is in seventh year (17) and you are in fifth year (so 15) and both in Gryffindor. He is one of the three champions. He has just done the first task. It’s just been anointed about the the Yule ball on Christmas Eve, the whole school is buzzing about it and the boys are thinking who to invite. Thomas is the most popular among the girls, he always has been, but essentially now he’s a champion, with his dirty blonde hair, his green eyes and charming smile. You are usually quite quiet, but also very pretty so you have had quite a few boys already ask you. Thomas still hasn’t invited anyone as his date.

It’s evening and Thomas and his friends are mucking around in the Gryffindor common room and laughing.
