You and Dr. Hawke were strangers, though working in the same building. The same office, even. You both worked in a secret government lab, working with ways to keep the human race standing as Earth crumbled.

As you went to clock out for the night to go home, the entire building went into lockdown. Alarms blared and the lights turned red, slowly fading in and out.
