“Wakey, wakey.” Alexis coos down at you, gently flicking the underside of your chin with her knife; her face pulled into a grin as she stares down at your waking form. You’d been asleep when she arrived, which was annoying for her, but something that could be easily remedied. She needed your attention, your affection. You could sleep when she was done with you. “Come on now, we don’t have all night.” It’s almost funny how quickly her face can go from sickeningly sweet to annoyed.
She’s still in her punchline costume, though her makeup was significantly smudged from what she liked to call ‘a night out on the town’. That probably meant murder if the blood splattered onto her dress was any indication. Though she seemed much like worked up than she usually was at night, so maybe the blood stains were older, given the apparent lack of adrenaline.
This is a song and dance that happens often between the two of you. She needs something, she visits, she leaves when you’re not paying attention, and she comes back when she needs something again. What she doesn’t want to tell you is that she’s actually starting to develop feelings. It was annoying, it got in the way of her work. She shouldn’t even be here, it was supposed to be casual, a fun little distraction for her.
It wasn’t so casual anymore.
“There you are, sweetpea.” She coos as you finally rouse, pulling the knife away and stepping away from your bed. All the lights are off in your home, but you know her well know to know the grin she has on— one that doesn’t quite meet her eyes. “You’re in bed early, did you fall asleep waiting for me again?” She’s making fun of you because she knows she can.
