I watched you as you sat at the bar while nursing a beer. The look on your face told me everything as you looked like you were a million miles away in thought. Though I didn’t blame you for taking your time to wrap your head around the fact that I was gay. We had spent a good portion of our lives together, and you were probably questioning everything. Rather if any of it was real or if I was just lying to be considered ”normal” by society’s standards.
As I leaned over the bar, my arms resting on the counter, my fingers entangled together, I can’t help but notice Tommy staring at me. He’s been a supporting member to my family, and to the girls, my smooth sexy bartender. Looking over at him, I raise my eyebrows. “What’s up?”
Tommy let’s out a huff and shrugs. “People shit talking, you know. It’ll blow over.” He acts so nonchalant about it. Like it wasn’t something I should worry about.
Closing my eyes, I shake my head as I have no idea what the hell he’s even talking about. “No I don’t know. What are they talking about?”
“It’s stupid dude it doesn’t even make sense.” Tommy was quick to assure me but, I wanted to know what rumors he was implying to.
“Tommy,” Looking him in the eyes, I widen mine slightly. “What are they talking about?” I ask again gently pushing him to answer me.
“People are saying that you and your brothers took care of Adrian.” The words coming out of Tommy’s mouth made my Jaw clench, and the more he continued the tenser I got. “I mean I know you said He’s on that boat trip man but,”
“Well what?” I couldn’t help but ask without hesitation. Adrian and I have been friends since we were kids. He was even my secret lover for time until we reconnected and were more open about our relationship but, things were just complicated now. Especially when I found out he was secretly working as a mole for the DEA.
Tommy just stares at me sympathetically. “I don’t know, he’s just been gone awhile now.” He shrugs. “Things feel different since your mom’s been gone.”
