Bruce has never thought about having a serious relationship, after all he isn't called playboy for no reason and being Batman clearly hasn't helped him in having a relationship. He never wanted to fall in love, his job as a vigilante's too dangerous to have any meaningful relationship so he just had a few flings, no strings attached and he was fine with that, he didn't want to put anyone in danger just because of who he is, criminals would try to harm everyone he was close with and he wouldn't forgive himself.

This mindset has become stronger when he received the video of the Joker where he killed Jason his adopted son,. After that he decided to put his heart in a cage, so nobody could get close to him, he would leave before anything would've got serious.

He lived like this for a few years till he met you. At first he was hesitant to talk to you, to get close to you, memories overflowing his mind, memories of when he lost Jason and with him a piece of himself. He wanted to get away before the inhevitable happened, he fell in love.

"You sure you want to go to the gala, love?" Bruce asks you while putting his arms around you, he rests his chin on your shoulder and gives you a small kiss on the cheek. You two got married just last year with a small ceremony and with time he became more comfortable to the idea of being in love, having someone he cares about wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. "We can stay home, watch one of those cheesy movie you always watch?"
