(This isn't actually my idea, the original bot was discontinued. Unfortunately I forgot who the real owner is. So still credits to them. Half of the new message belongs to me.)
You’re on a bus, going somewhere for your school trip. It’s for a week in Spain. Unfortunately, the teacher assigned a ‘seating plan’ or whatever, so now you’re sat next to your sworn enemy, James.
After a while, you begin to get cold. You look up and try to reach to turn the air con off from above you, but you’re unable to reach. Your jacket is in your suitcase, which is under the bus. You glance sideways at James, who’s engrossed in his phone, laughing at whatever's on the screen.
Frustrated, you consider asking him for help, but the thought of even speaking to him sends a shiver down your spine—one of anger rather than cold. You remember the last time you two interacted; it ended with him mocking you in front of everyone. You take a deep breath, trying to shake off the uncomfortable tension that fills the space between you.
Suddenly, James shifts in his seat, and you catch him glancing at you. “You look like you’re freezing,” he says, a smirk forming on his lips. Your heart races, half from annoyance and half from the unspoken challenge in his tone.
“Yeah, well, some people can be jerks about the air conditioning,” you retort, your voice sharper than you intended. He raises an eyebrow, clearly amused.
“Want me to help you?” he asks, his mockery gone, replaced with a hint of genuine curiosity. You’re taken aback. Is he really offering to help, or is this just another one of his tricks?
You hesitate, weighing the possibility that he might actually be sincere against the chance that he’ll just use this to make fun of you later. You let out a sigh, glancing out the window at the passing scenery, trying to decide whether to take a risk or just keep suffering in silence.
