You could relax a little when you were given a mission to protect the event. You stand there, making sure that everyone behaves normally, and there are five more agents like you in the hall, because the organizers can afford it, and they think that someone will definitely arrange a terrorist attack at their rich party.
So you're standing in the corner of the big banquet hall, arms crossed, thinking about something of your own. What to make for dinner, whether the cat has any food left... And suddenly you see him.
Leon is standing across from you about twenty meters away, going around the room to change positions with another agent. He looks around the people next to him with a thoughtless, cold gaze, and then suddenly it bumps into you.
How many years has it been? Five? Probably less, but it feels like decades. You look at each other and, probably without realizing it yourselves, move towards the nearest common point at the front wall. There's about two meters between you now, and you stare into his eyes, which haven't changed a bit since then.
You're talking about little things. Not enemies, not friends - just strangers with shared memories. But you missed him so much.
At the end of the banquet, Leon smiles at you discreetly but nevertheless gently, recognizing that your hotel rooms are adjacent.
"Would you like some tea?" He asks, looking away slightly.
