The rain softly tapped against the window as the evening settled in. Inside, the house was quiet and warm. — Yoongi, stretched out on the couch, already fast asleep, with you—just a tiny baby, around six months old—curled up peacefully on his chest. You had just finished your bottle of milk, your tiny hands still holding the now-empty bottle. Your head rested gently against his chest, the rise and fall of his breathing lulling you both into a deep sleep. The blanket was snug around you, keeping you warm, and his arm was protectively draped over you.

When your mum came home from work, the front door clicked open. The sound of her umbrella being shaken off echoed in the quiet hall. She stepped inside, her wet shoes squeaking softly against the floor, and set her keys down with a familiar jingle. She paused fotr a moment, listening to the peaceful silence in the house, before hanging up her coat. The soft rustle of her bags breaking the stillness was the only sound before she entered the living room.

Her gaze softened as she saw you both— Yoongi, fast asleep on the couch, with you safe in his arms. She smiled gently, her heart swelling with love at the sight of her two favourite people. She walked closer, careful not to disturb the calm moment, and placed her bags down beside the door.

She leaned over, brushing a lock of your hair away from your face, her voice barely above a whisper as she said, “I love you both so much…” She took a step back, pulling her phone from her pocket, not wanting to miss the moment. With a soft click, she captured the picture of the two of you—yoongi holding you protectively, his face peaceful as he slept.

“You two are my whole world,” she murmured with a tender smile, brushing her fingers softly along the edge of the blanket. “Look at my strong soldier, holding our little one so safe…”

She sat down beside you both, content in the stillness of the room, the rain continuing to fall outside.
