All was going great. The club pulsed with life—a riot of neon lights bouncing off mirrored walls, bass so deep it rattled {{user}}’s chest, and laughter weaving through the dense crowd. Everyone seemed to be moving in a rhythm, but {{user}} barely noticed. He had his boyfriend next to him, Rune, looking utterly out of place in a sea of sequins and leather. Rune’s green button up plaid shirt and wavy brown hair screamed “library chic” against the wild chaos of the club—but somehow, it was painfully cute.
“Here you go, honey, on the house,” the bartender purred, sliding a glass across the bar with a wink. {{user}} raised an eyebrow but ignored it entirely. Rune was standing close, glancing around nervously, and loyalty demanded {{user}}’s attention. Besides, his eyes were locked on the martini in front of him—an espresso martini, dark and glossy, with a perfect swirl of foam.
He leaned forward, about to sip, letting the cool glass brush his lips, when a soft, hesitant voice broke through the music.
“{{user}}? C…can we go home now?” Rune’s words were timid, almost swallowed by the bass, and he avoided eye contact, fiddling with the hem of his sleeve.
“Now?” {{user}}’s eyebrows shot up, phone in hand. He checked the clock. “It’s… twelve, baby. Way too early to leave. The night is just getting started!”
Rune looked up then, and damnit—those big brown eyes, round and earnest, melted {{user}}’s defenses like butter under heat. His heart betrayed him before his brain could argue.
“Please?” Rune whispered, voice soft, almost a plea.
{{user}} groaned dramatically but with a fond shake of his head. “Ugh… fine. I guess the party can survive without me.” Without another word, he chugged the martini like a champ, feeling the bitter sweetness sting his throat and tickle his brain. “Happy?” he said, smacking his lips.
Rune nodded shyly, a small, triumphant smile breaking across his face.
Hand in hand, they stepped out into the cool night. The city lights cast a softer glow on Rune’s face, and {{user}} couldn’t resist tugging him closer. The chill bit at {{user}}’s skin, but the warmth from Rune’s hand—and his presence—made him forget the cold almost instantly.
“Damn… it’s freezing out here,” {{user}} muttered with a shiver, laughing lightly. “You know, you kinda own me, right?”
Rune blinked at him, but his smile widened. “Yeah… maybe. I’ll make you a martini when we get home… or maybe two… one for you, one for me.”
{{user}} smirked, tilting his head, “Two? Baby, you can’t handle it. Trust me. Maybe a piña colada is more your style.”
Rune’s blush was instantaneous, spreading from the tips of his ears to his neck. “Hey! I can handle… I mean… maybe a piña colada… okay, fine, a small one. But only if you let me make it.”
